Keep it Simple - Effective Cues & Building Blocks For Improved Progression

Description

As Pilates teachers we find ourselves constantly adapting to the ever changing needs of our students, as they begin their journeys, progress and grow, or confront injuries, new challenges, or limitations in their practice. Having a versatile tool box to draw from filled with effective and simple cues, building blocks and work arounds, can be the answer to keeping our students progressing, even through challenging issues, as well as keeping our students engaged and motivated and returning to your studio time and time again.

This workshop will look at how we can build a stronger more effective practice by keeping our communication simple and direct, to boost progressing and empowering our students using solid building blocks and knowing where to use them across the studio. We will focus on applying these details on the mat and discuss how to apply them across the studio, exploring delivering and layering cues, breaking down common exercises into goal related components, and discovering building blocks to work around common injuries and issues and to lay a strong foundation for any level of Pilates practice.

Presenter: Jamie Isaac

At the end of the workshop the attendee will:

-Understand how to maximize their cueing

-Know when and how to effectively layer their cues to most effectively match their students’ needs, abilities and goals.

-Discover a variety of building blocks to use when introducing exercises, working with common injuries or conditions.

-Learn how to utilize the studio space to develop key components of many exercises, for faster progression and skill acquisition.

-Feel confident and prepared to adapt to and work with many conditions, injuries and issues presented.
