Osteoporosis Protocols Across the Classical System presented by Trey Fry
We hold powerful tools within both the Classical System & Classical Studio to work with clients across the range & spectrum of bone density considerations. Spend time and dive into the newer research on what exactly we can & cannot do with these populations within the context of the Pilates system, and most importantly, distill any fear you might have. Leave empowered to better help your clients.
Equipment Needed: Reformer, Mat, Cadillac, Electric Chair, Wunda Chair, Ped-O-Pul, Magic Circle. If you do not have all of the equipment or access to equipment, please observe and take notes!
Objectives:
· Review new research on protocols working with Osteoporosis & Osteopenia.
· Learn exercise considerations, adaptations, and omissions for this population.
· Understand how to design programs for private & group sessions with consideration to bone .density
· Gain client education & empowerment tools that provide a more wholistic and allied approach.
Why should I take this session? Working with bone density issues can challenge the best of instructors. Get the information you need to be confident in working with students who have osteopenia or osteoporosis. Trey will be joined by Garret, a Physical Therapist, who will be available to answer more clinical questions on protocols and the most current approaches.
