Pilates for Athletes

Description

Training an athlete is fun and challenging. Each sport has a repetitive movement and Pilates is a great way to cross train. Pilates builds strength, mobility, endurance, and helps prevent injury. It is our job as instructors to find out the athlete’s goal for doing Pilates, evaluate their 4S’s (stability, strength, stretch, stamina) and work to create balance in their bodies.

This course will cover a variety of sports and examine the common 4S’s for each and how to identify them. Discover how to train and challenge athletes while working with them toward their goals and addressing what you have uncovered using the 4S’s. Challenging an athlete does not always mean giving them the hardest exercises, it might mean providing fundamentals to correct faulty movement patterns and re-learn essential movement patterns.
