Join Pamela Garcia and clean up your act by working on seamless transitioning! As your students reach the advanced level, the necessity for them owning the transitions and knowing how to minimize the time spent in them becomes imperative to getting through the volume of work contained in the advanced order. Learn the subtleties and 'tricks of the trade' that lead to poetry in motion, don't throw away the transition, it's an important part of the exercise- and your students' experience of the work. This workshop will focus on the Level III mat and reformer order.
Why should I attend this workshop?
The transitions play a huge role in creating connection to the work: Teaching or performing a great transition sets the student up for success. You may be clear about the exercise and how to correct a body, but be losing the thread of the transition. Pam is known for her attention to detail and will help you know exactly when to take the spring off without stopping unless necessary, she will teach you how to minimize the motion and time that transitioning takes on reformer and mat.
At the end of the workshop the instructor will:
1. Have more clarity regarding classical transitions
2. Know how to cue ahead of the student with economy of words to move from one exercise right into the next exercise's setup
3. Understand how to create a true economy of motion during transitions
4. Move more fluidly from exercise to exercise on the mat and reformer
