Pilates for Parkinson's

Description

Parkinson’s is a chronic & progressive disease that affects the Central Nervous System, with symptoms that include tremors, a shuffling gate, difficulty with fine motor skills and balance, and stiffness and muscle weakness. Learn how Pilates can help these clients maintain their strength and flexibility, as well as improve their quality of life.


Workshop Objectives:

1. Be able to create a Pilates workout to help a client with Parkinson's improve their strength, flexibility and balance.

2. Understand how to adapt the classical system with props, spring settings, and hands on stretches to match the unique needs of a client with Parkinson’s

3. Discover specific exercises to help improve Central Nervous System function
