Variations on Classical Pilates

While the classical work is a wonderful foundation for Pilates, variations can make the classical work fun, challenging, and exciting. This workshop will show different variations on the classical Pilates work on a variety of apparatus. Variations are a product of teacher’s imagination, and hopefully by learning new variations of the classical work will help to spark instructor’s imagination on where they can take the classical work to new places.

Why should I take this workshop?

Learning new  variations on the reformer, tower, and chair will give you more to challenge your client mentally and physically. You will do the work in your own body, and experience  fun ways to change up your own personal Pilates practice as well as your teaching. You will also explore the key points of the variations to understand how to teach these exercises to your own clients.

Course Objectives

At the end of the workshop the attendee will:

1. Learn variations on the reformer, tower, and chair.

2. Perform and feel the variations in their own body to see how the exercise is similar to the original but with a fun twist.

3. Encourage the imagination of instructor’s to get them to come up with some ways they can vary the work on their own.
