The final course of the Mat program builds upon the Pilates foundation established in Basic and Intermediate Mat. You will learn how to layer advanced exercises into the Mat exercise order. We will focus on how to break down and advance the exercises to suit your students’ needs as well as refining touch techniques, teaching methodology, imagery, progression and special populations. We will also teach you how to train your eye to see subtle alignment issues, deepen your understanding of the relationship between the exercises and design a progressive Mat course for a fitness facility or studio.
Course Materials: Advanced Mat manual.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Basic and Intermediate Mat courses and submission of 75 hours to Peak Pilates. 10 hours observation, 30 hours teaching and 35 hours practice.
At the end of the course the instructor will be able to teach an Advanced Level Mat Course using the 5-Part Formula for Success.
